Unsurprisingly, with it being on top of almost everyone’s travel wishlist, Iceland came first as Favourite European Country in The Guardian’s 2012 Travel Awards.
Cited as a new possibility as a low-cost travel destination, this is best achieved with a spot of hitch-hiking and wild camping.
